OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Bridgestone-Firestone tire company is donating 60 acres of land in southwest Oklahoma City to the Western Heights School District. The land is just north of the company's plant that was closed last December.
Forty of the 60 acres is a wildlife habitat and will be used for nature education.
The remaining 20 acres will be the site of a new elementary school in the Western Heights district.
Bridgestone-Firestone Chief Executive Mark Emkes says the company is trying to sell the now vacant plant.
