State officials are developing a plan for water use in Oklahoma and for the next couple of months those officials will be visiting a number of communities across northeast Oklahoma seeking the public's input. The Oklahoma Water Resources Research Institute and the state Water Resources Board are working to develop guidelines for water usage over the next 50 years.

Meetings got underway this month and for the next couple of months, officials will be holding public meetings in a number of northeast Oklahoma communities.

The next meeting is Tuesday at OSU-Tulsa at 700 North Greenwood in the North Hall, room 150.

Other meetings are scheduled for September 4 in Tahlequah at the Northeastern State University’s student union building at 600 North Grand Avenue in the Red Bud Room. And at Tri County Technology Center in Bartlesville on September 11. That meeting will be in the center's auditorium, located at 6101 Nowata Road.
