Hard to believe after all the sweating we've been doing lately, but a dusting of snow fell on high mountain peaks this weekend from the storm that dumped hail and rain on the Front Range.
National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Baker says mountain snow isn't unusual for late August.
He says the snow fell mostly above 13,000 feet and was more granular than the flaky snow that's common during winter and spring storms.
An inch or more of hail was reported south of Denver on Thursday. Smaller amounts fell in southeastern Colorado.
