A former presidential candidate and controversial evangelist Pat Robertson was in town Sunday evening. He helped kick off "Word Explosion". The event is Victory Christian Center's annual, eight-day series of meetings. It is being held this week being held in Victory's new worship center.

Robertson was Sundayâ€™s speaker at the conference. He's the founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and the host of the network's "700 Club".

Last year, over the entire event, some 50,000 people attended.
