NEW YORK (AP) -- The Oklahoma Sooners are ranked 8th in The Associated Press preseason college football poll released Saturday.
The Sooners finished 11-3 last year and finished at No. 11 in the final AP poll.
Southern Cal is ranked first in this year's poll, followed by LSU, West Virginia, Texas and Michigan. Last year's national champion Florida is at No. 6, followed by Wisconsin, the Sooners, Virginia Tech and Louisville rounding out the top ten.
Oklahoma State falls into the category of others receiving votes with three votes in the poll.
Voters in the poll include Myron Patton of KOKH-TV in Oklahoma City and Mike Strain, the sports editor at the Tulsa World.
