Hunt For Tulsa Murder Suspect Cost More Than $93,000

LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the hunt for a Tulsa murder suspect in the Lawton area cost more than $93,000. Trooper Betsy Randolph says the OHP had 101 people working the manhunt for Joshua Muller including one trooper who drove nearly 500 miles round-trip to work a shift.

Muller surrendered July 25th after eluding officers for four days. He's now in the Tulsa County jail on two first-degree murder charges in the July 22nd shooting deaths of a 12 year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy in Tulsa.

Randolph says the cost also includes using the OHP helicopter for 26 hours and the OHP airplane for 16 hours. Mules and tracking dogs were also used during the search.

Randolph says the cost is paid from the highway patrol's general fund.
