ADAIR, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say two Adair youths die when their vehicle collides with a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 69 in Mayes County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 12-year-old Dalton Malchow suffered head and internal injuries and died at the scene of the 2:19 p.m. accident Wednesday. Troopers say 16-year-old Blake Andrew Hurst also sustained head and internal injuries and died at the scene.
The OHP says the vehicle driven by 16-year-old Daniel Alexander Kelley was headed west on a county road as the semi driven by Wesley Eugene York was going south on U.S. highway 69.
Troopers say after Hurst's car stopped at a stop sign, the vehicle continued west across two lanes of the highway and into the path of the semi.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the impact spun the car two times, throwing Dalton Malchow and his 15-year-old brother, Justin, out. Kelley and 15-year-old passenger Cody Wayne Taft were treated at a Vinita hospital and released.
The OHP says Justin Malchow was admitted to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa in critical condition. York wasn't hurt.
