COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Triple-jumper Kenta Bell has accepted a three-month suspension after testing positive for a banned substance.
The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said Monday that Bell, of Decatur, Ga., tested positive for methylpredisolone on June 24 at the U.S. Outdoor Nationals in Indianapolis. Methylprednisolone is a prescription drug, but Bell did not have an exemption required by anti-doping rules.
Bell's suspension was deferred, and he was allowed to return to competition after completing an anti-doping education program this month, said USADA general counsel Travis Tygart.
Bell was disqualified from his third-place finish at the Outdoor Nationals.
