ENID, Okla. (AP) -- Enid police are investigating what led to the near drowning of an 18-month-old girl in a backyard pool.
The child was taken to Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, where she was stabilized before being flown by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Hospital officials wouldn't release information about the child's condition.
Police Sergeant Greg Bergdall says the parents were home when the accident occurred.
Bergdall says an officer was the first on the scene, jumped the fence and immediately started doing CPR while he waited for firefighters and paramedics to arrive.
