STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy says Monday wide receiver Artrell Woods will miss the upcoming football season after having back surgery.

Woods was injured during a voluntary offseason workout Friday and had a spinal decompression and infusion done that day in a 3-and-a-half-hour procedure.

OSU says Woods has been moved out of intensive care and is expected to be released to an inpatient rehabilitation center Tuesday.

Gundy says Woods will not play in 2007 but that Woods remains part of the team.

Woods played in all 13 of Oklahoma State's games last year as a freshman, catching two passes for nine yards.

He caught four passes for a game-high 111 yards and two touchdowns in the spring game and was considered a potential starter for this season.

OSU trainer Rob Hunt says Woods suffered a "fracture dislocation" of vertebrae and an incomplete spinal cord injury.
