The Federal Emergency Management Agency is helping Miami residents put out by flooding. Hundreds of homes were destroyed last week when the Neosho River rose more than 14 feet above flood stage. Now, FEMA is sending hundreds of trailers to Miami to be used for temporary housing.
The Miami City Council approved an ordinance allowing the temporary shelters for up to six months.
The trailers will begin arriving next week.
