You know how high the grass in your yard has grown thanks to all the rain. Imagine having to mow all the city’s highway medians. Grass in some of them is five feet high, making it difficult for motorists to see on-coming traffic.
The city says they only have enough money to mow medians six to eight times a year and depend on volunteers to do most of the work.
Crews are supposed to start mowing when, and if, it stops raining.
