ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- The Texas Rangers optioned right-hander Robinson Tejeda to Triple-A Oklahoma and recalled right-handed pitcher Wes Littleton.
Texas manager Ron Washington says Tejeda will not pitch for Oklahoma, but instead work with pitching coach Mark Connor and bullpen coach Dom Chiti during the All-Star break. Washington said the move was made to add an extra pitcher to the bullpen.
Tejeda will throw two bullpen sessions before his next start, which is scheduled for July 17th against Oakland.
Tejeda is 5-8 with a 6.70 ERA in 17 starts for the Rangers.
Littleton is 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA in nine games with Texas this season. He was sent down to Oklahoma on June 16th.
