NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma will open the upcoming women's basketball season against the last two NCAA champions in the sport.
After a home exhibition game on November 1st against Henderson State of Arkansas, OU will play 2006 champion Maryland in the season opener on November 11th at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
On November 15th, the Sooners will play defending national champion Tennessee in the ESPNU Women's Basketball Invitational in Tampa, Florida.
That game will be played at the Saint Pete Times Forum, site of the 2008 Final Four.
The Sooners finished 28-5 last season and lost to Mississippi in the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament.
OU's home opener will be against North Texas on November 27th.
The Sooners will visit in-state rival Tulsa on December 8th and Big Ten Conference power Michigan State on December 16th before hosting South Carolina on December 30th.
OU later will announce five more nonconference games, including an exhibition contest, as well as its Big 12 Conference schedule.
