CONCORD, Mass. (AP) -- Jay Haas shot a final-round of 6-under-par 66 to win the Bank of America Championship and collect his fourth title of the year.
He finished the 54-hole event 13-under-par to beat runners-up Leonard Thompson and Brad Bryant by three strokes.
Haas took advantage of a collapse by Tom Purtzer. The second-round leader brought a three-shot lead into final-day play. And he was 12 under at the turn. Not long afterwards, the two-time runner-up bogeyed three straight holes and then double-bogeyed the par-three 17th after putting his tee shot in the water. Purtzer finished in fourth place at minus-9.
Haas made the turn at 11-under and picked up a pair of birdies on the back nine to complete his bogey-free round.
