'Gimmie The Mike' Returns

The hottest local talent contest is back. Thursday night eight contestants hit the stage for the fourth season of â€œGimme the Mike.â€ News On 6 anchor Latoya Silmon went behind the scenes to get the scoop. She reports the season premiere is next month, but here's a sneak peak at what's in store.

It's a chance to show what you've got, and only 20 people will get to do so.

â€œI'm still pinching myself to make sure I'm here, and it feels really good,â€ â€œGimme the Mikeâ€ contestant Marie Wilson said. â€œI have a lot of support from friends and family and so I'm looking forward to doing it, and I've been waiting all day for them to give me the mic!

But before contestants belt out their favorite song they have to rehearse and make sure they look the part. Once the stage is set the fourth season of Oklahoma's â€œGimme the Mikeâ€ can begin. Six in the Morning anchor and â€œGimme the Mikeâ€ Host LeAnne Taylor says this season is going to be even bigger and better.

â€œYou're going to see a lot of new stuff this year. We've got a new scoring system, everything is just kinda up a notch,â€ said Six in the Morning anchor LeAnne Taylor. â€œI think it's going to be a great season. I think this may be our best ever.

And this homegrown talent can't wait to show you what they've got. You can see more of the contestants and start weighing in on your favorite July 9th at 7:30 p.m. on the News On 6.
