A Bartlesville Police officer has awakened from a coma, three weeks after the motorcycle accident that injured him and killed his wife. Gary McManus and his wife, Jill, were returning home from a charity toy run, when a car pulled out in front of their motorcycle on December 3rd. The accident happened on Tuxedo Avenue near Highway 75 in Bartlesville.
McManus is a 23 year veteran of the Bartlesville Police Department. He and his wife, Jill, had only been married a few months.
