The Salvation Army in Tulsa got a pleasant surprise in one of its Christmas kettles Friday morning. Officials say a South African Krugerrand was dropped in a red kettle outside the Wal-Mart store at 81st and Lewis. This is the fifth time in the past 9 years the Salvation Army in Tulsa has received a Krugerrand donation.

Salvation Army officials add, this is the third year in a row, they have received this type of donation.

The Krugerrand is a South African coin that was first minted back in 1967. A check online shows a Krugerrand is worth a little over $837.
