MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) - Marble City School Superintendent Larry Couch has offered to resign and repay $100,000 in school funds in exchange for the school board recommending he receive a deferred sentence on an embezzlement charge.

He was charged in August with embezzling $100,000. However, an ongoing state audit has identified more than $500,000 in missing school funds.

Couch, who has been on medical leave since August, made the resignation offer in a letter sent by his attorney to the school attorney.
