NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Three-time University of Oklahoma All-American football player Buddy Burris has died at age 84. The cause of death was not immediately available.

Burris was an All-American guard at OU in the late 1940s. He began his college career at the University of Tulsa in 1942 before joining the Army during World War Two. Burris also played three years for the Green Bay Packers after graduating from OU in 1949.

A memorial service will be Thursday at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
