A Muskogee mother and her 5-year-old son are dead following a one-car accident Friday morning. Caleb Deighan, age 5, died at the scene when he was ejected from the car which then rolled over him. Keren Deighan, his 31-year-old mother and the driver of the car, died Friday night at St. Francis Hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.
Seven-year-old Emanuel Deighan, Caleb’s brother, survived the accident.
According to a report by Trooper Scott Miller of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop C, Keren Deighan was driving a 2003 Ford northbound on U.S. Highway 69 about a mile north of Oktaha at 11:15 a.m. when her car ran off the road on the inside shoulder.
