Bus Crash Kills One, 29 Hospitalized

RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A tour bus carrying several dozen people headed for a sea cruise out of Miami, Florida crashed in Dorchester County, South Carolina. Broadcast reports say one person was killed and 29 people have been taken to the hospital.

The wreck happened shortly after 1 a.m. Monday when the bus ran off the westbound lane of Interstate 26 near the town of Ridgeville and hit some trees.

The bus was heading from St. Stephen, South Carolina, to Miami. A spokesman for 5-Star Transportation says there were 50 people on the bus.

The driver was killed. Passengers sustained mostly minor injuries, according to officials.
