The Tulsa State Fair opens Thursday and as always, the midway will be one of the big attractions. There's something new this year, it's called the "Mind Melt."

It's taller, faster and maybe more thrilling than any ride ever at the fair. News on 6 reporter Rick Wells says Robby Bell of Bell's Amusement Park gave the News on 6 a sneak peek Wednesday afternoon.

It's 142 feet to the top, it takes twelve folks up at a time, slowly climbing to the top that takes about a minute then without warning, it throws you to the bottom. Some of our folks got a preview first ride Wednesday and they were excited about riding it and they loved it.

There are only two of these in the country, the other is in Phoenix. The ride up takes about a minute, the fall is a little more than a second. The force is 3.2-G's, makes a 100-pound person feel like 320 pounds.

It'll be one of the more expensive rides, somewhere in the $5 to $7 range.
