Kenneth Barrett was sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper earlier this year.

The News on 6 has learned he also faces federal charges. US Marshals issued the warrant just one day before the five year statute of limitations expired.

The indictment accuses Barrett of using a firearm while committing a felony that resulted in the death of OHP trooper Rocky Eales.

Eales was shot and killed in September 1999 while serving a search warrant at Barrett's home in Sallisaw.
