OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ If you're on Southwest Airlines Flight 993, plan on being late.

The U-S Department of Transportation says the flight is late more than 80 percent of the time and missed its scheduled time by an average of nearly 40 minutes. The flight was more than 15 minutes late 94 percent of the time in June.

The aircraft used for Flight 993, which flies from Kansas City, Missouri, to Oklahoma City, stops at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

The plane begins its day in Norfolk, Virginia, before flying to Baltimore and Hartford, Connecticut; and back to Baltimore before lunch.

In the afternoon, the aircraft travels to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, Chicago and Kansas City before arriving in Oklahoma.

Southwest blames the delays on storms in Florida and the East Coast throughout the summer. The airline says it will reassign flight patterns in October.

Southwest has the best on-time record of the nation's ten largest airlines through July.
