McLEAN, Texas (AP) -- Gray County, Texas, officials say a body was found there last October is that of Vickie Helen Anderson of the Oklahoma City area.
Sheriff Don Copeland says the 44-year-old Anderson died of blunt force trauma to the head. She was identified through fingerprints.
Anderson was last seen October 14th at a truck stop in Sayre. Her body was found the next day in Gray County, about 45 miles west of the Oklahoma state line.
Copeland says it isn't known if Anderson is the victim of a suspected serial killer and can't rule the possibility in or out.
Eleven prostitutes have been found murdered in Oklahoma and several other states since 2002.
Copeland says he doesn't know if Anderson was a prostitute, but says he has some information that she was not.
