GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) -- A Guthrie company says it will build and assemble parts for a plane that's to fly tourists into space.
Spirit Wing Aviation says it's won the contract to help modify a Lear Jet into Rocketplane XP.
The plane will be built and operated by Rocketplane Limited of Burns Flat. The company plans to offer commercial space-flights for about 100-thousand dollars each from the old Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base in western Oklahoma.
Spirit Wing CEO Calvin Burgess declined to say how much the contract is worth, but says it will create 25 to 30 new jobs.
