Finishing touches on the US National Arabian Horse Show contract

Dotting the â€œIâ€™sâ€ and crossing the â€œTâ€™sâ€ on a big boost to the city of Tulsaâ€™s future. Representatives from the US National Arabian Horse Show Association were in town Tuesday, putting the finishing touches on a three-year contract that will bring the high-profile show to the fairgrounds.

The ten day event would draw an estimated 100,000 spectators, which show officials say would translate to $18-million for Tulsaâ€™s economy.

The show's chairman says Tulsa's central location and renovated fairgrounds helped put the city ahead of 8 or 9 others that also wanted the show. Lance Walters, National Show Chairman: "The improvements, again, that you are making through your tax dollars to these grounds make it very attractive for larger shows like ours to come to the fairgrounds like this."

The Arabian show's contract covers 2008 through 2010, with an option for two more years.
