Sunny weather over the holiday weekend is welcome relief to business owners at the lake after an unusually cool summer. The rains stayed at bay bringing boaters and lake lovers out on the water. And that's good for an industry that's had a lackluster summer season. Cooler temperatures and high gas prices are also blamed for the dip in business. Dick Barton Crystal Bay Marina Owner "Labor Days are notoriously not good weekends. Because we usually have rain and we usually lose one two or all of it. So this has been a good weekend."
Barton says business at the marina is down about 30 percent from three years ago.
