Drivers who use the Broken Arrow Expressway for their commute have probably noticed more police presence. And that means more drivers getting pulled over.

Tulsa Police have been out every day all summer targeting bad drivers on the BA. 1,400 accidents a month happen on Tulsa streets. If you combine excessive speed with following too closely and improper lane changes and the result is something police see all too often.

Tulsa Police officer Tom Barbee: "That's the reason we started increasing our enforcement on the Broken Arrow to try to cut down and reduce some of the accidents.”

The shifts are split up between different divisions. Officer Barbee says his unit averages 15 to 25 citations a day on the BA. He says after months of cracking down, there's a noticeable reduction in the number of speeders, but there are still too many drivers being unsafe.
