A Tulsa school teacher is under arrest. The teacher was just featured in a Tulsa newspaper article Sunday.

A fraud detective thought she recognized his picture from a recent fraud alert and sure enough, found out he had two outstanding felony warrants concerning bogus checks. No one could've been more surprised than the people he worked for.

News on six crime reporter Lori Fullbright says Toshab Storrs' downfall was going on the record in a newspaper article, saying he was the co-administrator of the New Concept Preparatory School and was applying for a $330,000 grant for an after school program. A detective remembered seeing Toshab's picture on a fraud alert, only under the name Tony Green.

Tulsa Police say not only does he have two current felony warrants, but has also been convicted in Oklahoma and New York for bogus checks, grand larceny and a scheme to de-fraud.

Yet, he seemed unfazed by my questions.

Lori: "What is your understanding of the charges?"
Green: "That it concerns an unpaid fine."
Lori: "So, you're not aware of the two felony warrants out for your arrest?"
Green: "No, I'm not."
Lori: "Do you think that you've been accused of mishandling money would affect your ability to administer grant money?"
Green: "I wouldn't administer the money.”

The New Concept Preparatory School, which is going through a remodel, hired Storrs back in February as a kindergarten teacher. They say they were shocked when he described himself in the paper as a co-administrator.

They say he passed a background check, so they had no idea of his past. They had no idea he was using a different name.

Deborah Brown, New Concept founder: "It's crazy. It's shocking that this came to a head because he presents himself really well and comes across as so intelligence."

Storrs gave the school a copy of a sociology degree from Cornell University, but the News on 6 checked with alumni records and they don't have him listed. His resume' also says he went to the University of Oklahoma, but the News on 6 called and they have no record of him attending. He also lists library and legal research in 1992, but police say records show he was in prison in New York until 1997.

As for the two different names, Storrs told police he changed his first name from Tony to Toshab when he converted to Judaism and changed his last name from Green to Storrs when he married his gay lover.

In these most recent charges, he's accused of using several different social security numbers to open checking accounts, and then bounce checks. He told Tulsa Police he was having trouble paying his bills.

Of course, he's only been accused, not convicted on these charges.
