McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- Several events are planned in conjunction with the Oklahoma State Prison Rodeo this weekend in McAlester.

A carnival will run Wednesday through Sunday and the Oklahoma State Penitentiary prison art show will be Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.

A Prison Rodeo Parade will move through downtown McAlester beginning at 10 Saturday morning and will be followed by a day-long festival in downtown.

The 64th annual rodeo begins at 8 Friday and Saturday nights with gates opening at 6. The rodeo includes prison inmates in various events and professional rodeo competitors in barrel racing, steer wrestling and roping events.
