OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The Oklahoma City University women's soccer team has opened its season with a loss.

O-C-U hosted Northeastern Oklahoma State. Though the Stars outshot the Lady Reds 11-to-2, N-S-U came away with the 1-to-nothing victory.

Stacey Cutler collected the ball off a deflected pass by an O-C-U defender and drove inside the box for a line-drive kick into the goal for the winning score.

The Stars bombarded the Lady Reds' box throughout the game, outscoring N-S-U 7-to-1 in the first half. Whitney Ward and Jennifer Crawford led O-C-U with three shots apiece.

The Stars host Newman, Kansas, on Tuesday
