TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Oral Roberts backup Schuyler Thomas will miss the upcoming season after injuring his left foot in a pickup game.

A university spokesman says Thomas has already had surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon and has started rehab.

The senior from Fort Valley, Georgia, averaged 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 27 games for the Golden Eagles last season.

He had a career-high 22 points and eight rebounds against Oklahoma Wesleyan last season. He also scored 16 points in games against Oklahoma and Minnesota.
