OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A federal drug official is touting a new Oklahoma law that restricts the sale of a key ingredient used to make methamphetamine.

White House deputy drug czar Scott Burns says making it tougher to buy pseudoephedrine is making an incredible difference in Oklahoma.

Burns is visiting the sate to see if a similar federal law is needed or if states should adopt laws patterned after Oklahoma's. He says no decision on that question has been made.

Oklahoma Congressmen Brad Carson and John Sullivan are calling for a federal statute based on Oklahoma's law.

State narcotics officials estimate meth lab seizures have declined 50% to 70% statewide since Oklahoma passed the law.
