OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Retiring U-S Senator Don Nickles says he isn't sure what he'll be doing when his 24-year tenure in the U-S Senate ends in January.

But it's probably a safe bet Nickles won't have to sweep floors again.

Nickles -- who started his own janitor business with his wife when the two were students at Oklahoma State -- says he's leaning toward consulting or a venture capital firm.

Nickles says he also is considering an operation with a real estate component.

Nickles says he's talked with other former public officials who left office, including former Vice President Dan Quayle and former Defense Secretary William Cohen.

Nickles moved his family to the Washington area when he was first elected and no longer has a residence in Oklahoma.
