OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An eighth person has pleaded guilty as the result of an FBI-led investigation into Oklahoma City-based pimps.
In entering a guilty plea to trafficking a child prostitute, Greg Parsons on Wednesday admitted he took a girl from Oklahoma City to Miami, Fla., so she could sell her body for money.
One defendant awaits a federal court trial; nine suspects have state court dates pending; and one man is still wanted on a state warrant, according to court records.
Parsons, 21, reached an agreement with prosecutors in which they agreed to dismiss four other charges against him after he is sentenced.
If U.S. District Judge Robin J. Cauthron finds that Parsons committed his crime before April 30, 2003, he will face up to 15 years in prison. If she finds it occurred after that date, he'll face five to 30 years in prison.
The latter date is when a new federal law went into effect that increased penalties against those convicted of crimes against children.
Parsons will be sentenced after preparation of a presentence report, which could take 60 to 90 days.
