The new school year began Thursday for thousands of Tulsa area students.

Among them, kids in Broken Arrow and Tulsa Union Schools. Outside of Tulsa County, several other eastern Oklahoma school districts began classes Thursday.

Students in Jenks kick off their new year on Thursday August 19. In Tulsa, students still have a little time. They won't begin until after Labor Day.
