An Oklahoma soldier returns to Porum from Iraq and finally says “I Do.” The wedding day arrives after several delays.

The News on 6's Amy Lester discovers patience pays off.

“That one's one of my favorites when we come out of the reception hall.” With a joyful glow, Tiffany Clark relives the most memorable day of her life, her wedding day. “I wasn't really nervous I was just more excited it was actually going to happen, we were finally gonna get married.”

The vows were a long time coming. Tiffany waited patiently for a year while her future husband and soldier served in Iraq. "We were going to get married in May and then it got postponed because he had to stay in Iraq longer.”

Getting him home this time around wasn't easy either. “I just wanted to fall down in the airport and lay there forever because I felt like I was stuck there.” Adam Clark spent two days stranded in an airport in Germany because of ticket trouble. He cleared it up and flew to London, then missed his connection to Chicago. Adam went standby on the next plane to Chicago and two days late arrived in Tulsa. “It was awful, I just thought he's not ever going to get to come home, he's been gone a year.”

Now he's home and the delays, go along with the unique details of this couple's wedding story. Tiffany: “I felt like I was dreaming, I told him to pinch me to wake up.”

They planned the ceremony over e-mail and decided on the ring through a picture on the Internet. “That's not the way I thought it would go that's the Army life sometimes.” Army life will take the newlyweds back to the base in Germany.

Adam has a year and a half left; another tour in Iraq remains a possibility. “I'm really excited about starting our life together but the Iraq thing is still up in the air because it's not over yet, and that's my job.”
