A north Tulsa foundation helping to build bridges for the mentally disabled celebrated 40 years of service Tuesday.
Trans Voc Incorporated now called the Bridges Foundation assists people with developmental disabilities with vocational training and jobs so they can become part of society.
Many of the clients have paying jobs which has given them confidence they've never had before.
Client Ken Busheer: "It has given me the confidence and self-esteem to do other things!"
Pam Richardson with the Bridges Foundation: "They have the best attitudes, and it's our job to be the connection for the employer and help them understand what our clients can do!"
For more information on how you can help or to volunteer with the Bridges Foundation, contact Pam Richardson at 592-3333.
