Rogers County authorities are trying to figure out why a car was in the Verdigris River at the Highway 33 Landing ramp.

Sheriffâ€™s deputies were notified of a car submerged in the water around 1 AM Thursday. Deputies say no one was in the car, but several items were found in the trunk.

Authorities say the owner of the car had recently sold the vehicle and it does not appear to be stolen.
