OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The Senate Ethics Committee wants Senate hopeful Kirk Humphreys to disclose more details about the financial holdings of several private companies he partially owns.
The assets valued at several million dollars include property of Gibraltar Investments, which owns an interest in Century Partnership, StoreRoom and Chi-OK Real Estate Partners.
He reported that those entities were involved in commercial real estate and owned properties in various states, including Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Missouri and Georgia.
Although he lists the cities and states where the property is located, Humphreys does not break out individual pieces of property.
That appears to be what the ethics committee wants.
Robert Walker, the ethics committee's chief counsel, also wants Humphreys to include the kind of business conducted by Gibraltar, 4:12 Investments and Triad Investments, which are also listed on his disclosure form.
So far, the Republican candidate has withheld much of the information, saying it was not required on the two financial disclosure forms he has filed.
On his disclosure form, Humphreys identified the Oklahoma City-based Gibraltar Investments as a real estate and rental pass-through entity.
He reported that he personally owns 27 percent of Gibraltar and valued its assets at more than $3 million. Other members of his family own the rest of Gibraltar.
Cleta Mitchell, a Washington attorney who worked on Humphreys' report, said the ethics commission's request conflicts with the information she and Humphreys' accountant received from the committee in January.
``There isn't anything we have not disclosed,'' said Mitchell, a former state lawmaker from Oklahoma.
Walker would not comment.
As to the other entities cited by Walker, Mitchell said 4:12 Investments is a holder of a promissory note and mortgage on commercial real estate.
``That is the only business enterprise of 4:12 Investments,'' she states. ``The debtors of 4:12 Investments LLC are Gibraltar Investments LLC and Triad Investments LLC.''
Triad also is involved in commercial real estate but is not owned by Humphreys, she said.
