Whether you like to hit long drives, or just putt around, youâ€™ll soon have a new place to play golf.

Stonebridge Golf Club, an 18-hole championship course broke ground in Verdigris Saturday.

The 34,000 square-foot, two-story clubhouse will house a full service shop, locker rooms and a restaurant. The $6-million golf course will be open to the public.

Tom Barrett: We hope to kick start the economy locally here and give them a good reason to play golf, to enjoy the facilities, and have a great meal, and bring their weddings and their bar mitzvahs and all their catered events out to the golf course."

The golf course is expected to open next fall.
