An early morning drug bust in Coweta. Authorities made a couple of arrests Friday morning and have warrants out for several others, in a crackdown on crack cocaine.
News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says Coweta is a small town with a growing big city problem. Crack cocaine from Tulsa is turning up with small time dealers there. Friday morning the Coweta Police Department served search and arrest warrants on a couple of homes - looking for drug dealers.
It capped a 4-month investigation and resulted in 2 arrests, and the seizure of a small quantity of drugs. Coweta Police officer Dave Medlin: "From the informant, purchasing product in Tulsa, bring it to Coweta and selling it and we've been making controlled buys from her."
The seizure wasn't as big as officers hoped - but they believe any interruption of the pipeline is a step in the right direction.
