A familiar business will soon close its doors after 30 years of memories. Master gardener Charlie Cohlmia's greenhouse at 5702 East 41st Street will soon shut down to make way for an I-44 expansion.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation plans to build new exit ramps to help clear up the congestion at 41st and Sheridan. The new ramps are slated to go right through the greenhouse's front doors.
Cohlmia says the plan gives him a chance to open a new chapter in his life. "I'm going to try to slow my life down a little bit. I'm going to try to have some weekends off. I'm going to be off after Thanksgiving and after Christmas and I've promised my children this year that I'm going to put up a Christmas tree and I'm going to help them decorate it and I'm going to be happy instead cranky like I was in the past."
Cohlmia says his lease with ODOT runs out in November.
