(Charlotte, North Carolina-AP) -- Former Oklahoma guard De'Angelo Alexander will leave Oklahoma for Charlotte.
University of Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz says Alexander will start for the 49ers after he sits out a season to comply with NCAA transfer guidelines.
Alexander announced in April that he would be leaving Oklahoma, saying playing time was one of the reasons.
He averaged 9.9 points and five rebounds per game. He has two years of eligibility remaining with Charlotte.
While Alexander will sit out the season, will still be allowed to practice with the team. Alexander says he wants to help Charlotte get to the Final Four.
