Fire destroys a Glenpool business early Tuesday morning and damages a number of nearby buildings.

The fire broke out around 1:30 AM at the Lightner Heat and Air Company near Broadway and Main in Glenpool. Crews from Glenpool, Jenks and Bixby were called in to fight the fire. It took about an hour to bring it under control.

A neighbor woke up to the commotion and couldn't believe how big the fire was. Cecil Calvert: â€œIt was big, big. I don't see how the church house was standing or the house either one, it came awful close.â€

There was some concern of a hazard because of chemicals at the company. But there are no reports of injures.

One family that lived nearby was displaced because of damage to their home. The Red Cross is helping them.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
