One person is dead following a bank robbery and shooting at a south Tulsa bank. It happened Monday afternoon at the MidFirst Bank at 71st and Yale.
Tulsa Police say two men entered the bank wearing black ski masks and carrying weapons. After a confrontation with the bank's security guard, shots were fired. Police say 36-year-old security guard Kenneth Anderson of Bixby died from wounds he received in the gun battle.
A witness, Brad Lowe, says the men then ran from the building. “And one had a shotgun and duffle bag and the other one was bleeding, had, looked like a gunshot wound."
Tulsa Police later found one of the suspects at a nearby apartment. 43-year-old Wade Lay was arrested and taken to a local hospital with several gunshot wounds.
About two hours later, police found the second suspect. Lay's 19-year-old son Christopher Lay was taken into custody. He was also hospitalized for a gunshot wound.
