(Wichita-AP) -- Boeing Company told employees Thursday that several buyers have expressed interest in buying its commercial aircraft operations in Wichita, and plants in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma.

In an e-mail message, the company said no decisions had been made. According to the message, the next step was to exchange information with buyers and conduct tours.

The e-mail was signed by Wichita plant manager Jeff Turner and other top officials.

Boeing says it would evaluate all proposals before making a determination to continue negotiations or terminate the process.

The Chicago-based company told employees last month that selling the facilities is one of several scenarios under consideration as it tries to focus more on design, sales and marketing.
