There's a pre-emptive strike against cancer for Oklahoma women. Governor Brad Henry has signed into law a fund to pay for cervical and breast cancer screenings for women eligible for Medicaid.
Oklahoma was the only state that had not completed all of the steps required to provide the service. Oklahoma ranks 14th in the nation for the number of cancer deaths.
More than 2,700 Oklahoma women each year are diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer.
